Dan Wilson and his family have been actively involved in cross-cultural international ministry for close to 40 years. Their first mission was in 1986 to Trinidad and Tobago taking 12 students from their church to share the gospel in schools. Then having lived as residential missionaries, first in Zaire (’87-’88) as mission printers then in Kenya (’91-’99) as Awana East Africa Coordinators, the Wilson’s learned so much about the African culture, it’s nuances and what really works in regards to starting new ministry. Getting to know their African brothers and sisters well showed them the importance of close personal relationships and how much they are valued.
Upon their return from Africa to the USA in 1999, Dan became the Africa Director for Global Missions Fellowship and later their regional Director of Church Planting overseeing over 40 church planters and their individual ministries. During those years of research and study, God showed Dan a different approach to discipleship and church planting using multiplication as its core which would eventually lead him to start Xponent Ministries.
Using multiplication and discipleship based on the Biblical model of church planting, Xponent Ministries was born in 2013 to take discipleship and Biblical training to pastors and church leaders in the remote areas of developing nations. Using a ground up approach, Xponent seeks to empower and uplift these local leaders and has seen tremendous growth. In just ten years, Xponent grew into 10 nations in Africa and beyond and has professionally trained over 5000 church planters who have started over 5000 congregations and led over 100,000 people to faith in Jesus Christ! To God be the glory!
