In 1999, Marshall embarked on his first mission trip to Romania with his wife. As a dental technology consultant at the time, Marshall joined a dental team that provided services to over 800 patients in just 4 days. Remarkably, more than 400 people accepted Christ during this time. This marked the beginning of Marshall's 25 years of service and ministry combining evangelism, discipleship, and meeting practical needs.

Over the next two years, Marshall and his wife made regular short-term mission trips to Romania. During one of these trips, Marshall encountered another powerful opportunity to help people while sharing the Good News. While speaking with an elderly couple about Christ, it became clear that the wife was only focused on seeking help for her husband who had lost the use of his legs. Upon discovering that he needed a nutritional supplement, Marshall purchased a new bottle and gave it to the pastor to take to the couple. Months later, he received an email confirming that not only had the husband regained his ability to walk but also that the couple had joined the church.

In 2001, Marshall and his wife committed to full-time service in Romania until 2014.

Drawing from his experiences there, Marshall founded Transform Through WE in 2022.
